Eshrat Erfanian’s practice ranges from painting, drawing to digital print and video installations. The use and the effect of the new technologies as everyday tools and how they are changing our visual sensory are ongoing area of research in Erfanian’s work. More recent work, including Google Earth pro images of residential areas in Tehran and Toronto, is an exploration of new and often violent or otherwise fascinating ways in approaching maps or landscapes. Erfanian is a recipient of many grants from The Canada Council for the Arts and The Ontario Arts Council.
